Zakynthos tickets cover the flight, the Kyllini ferry, the Athens bus, the boat trips and the castle. Find more trip ideas on Greece Tours.
The guide below explains each ticket, who sells it and what to check before you pay.
What are Zakynthos tickets and which ones do you need?
Zakynthos tickets fall into four groups. A flight or ferry ticket reaches the island. A bus ticket covers the mainland leg. A boat ticket covers the sea trips, and an entry ticket covers a site.
Each group has its own seller. Airlines sell the flights. Levante Ferries runs the boat from Kyllini, and KTEL coaches carry passengers from Athens to the port. Tour operators sell the sea trips, and the castle runs its own opening days.
This guide keeps Zakynthos tickets apart by group, so you buy the right ticket in the right order. Entry to a water park has its own guide on the Zakynthos water park page.
Check four lines on every ticket before you pay:
- the date and the start time
- the departure point or the port
- the number of passengers or guests
- the cancellation rule
These four lines catch booking mistakes early. Each later section shows where to find them for its own ticket.
Which flight tickets lead to Zakynthos?
Among Zakynthos tickets, the flight ticket ends at Zakynthos International Airport “Dionysios Solomos”, which carries the IATA code ZTH. The airport lies close to the resorts of Laganas, Tsilivi and Kalamaki.
Type ZTH into a flight search to find flights to the island.
Wikipedia adds a rule that shapes the timetable. Flights cannot take off or land between 10 pm and 5 am, except in extenuating circumstances.
The reason is the marine park next door. Loggerhead turtles lay their eggs on the park’s beaches in summer, and Kalamaki beach lies under the approach path. A ticket for this airport therefore carries a landing before 10 pm or after 5 am.
How do Zakynthos tickets for the Kyllini ferry work?
A ferry ticket covers the Levante Ferries crossing between Kyllini on the Peloponnese and the port of Zakynthos. The ships sail 7 days a week all year, and the crossing takes about 1 hour 15 minutes.
Ferryscanner lists three ticket types for the route: foot passenger, car and motorbike. Vehicles board on selected ships. Ferryhopper confirms that you can bring your own vehicle on the Zante to Kyllini connection.
Pick the type that matches how you travel before you pay. A passenger on foot books the foot-passenger type. Zakynthos tickets for a car or a motorbike use the vehicle types instead.
Who gets a discount on Zakynthos tickets for the ferry?
Levante Ferries gives discounts of up to 50% to four groups. They are children aged 5 to 10 and island permanent residents. The list also covers students of Greek public universities, plus people with disabilities and their companions. Children up to 4 travel free.
The resident category is for holders of a Unique Islander Number. The student category covers Greek public universities only.
The age bands decide the ticket line. A child aged 7 falls in the discount band, and a child aged 3 falls in the free band. Check each age before you book Zakynthos tickets for a family.
Ferryhopper lists these categories on its Zante to Kyllini page. Read the list before you pay, because the discount applies to the named groups only.
How do you collect your ferry tickets and board at Kyllini?
Book online through a site such as Ferryhopper. Then collect the paper ticket at the Levante Ferries collection point in the port before departure. Ferryscanner advises you to reach the boarding gate at least 60 minutes before sailing.
Ferryhopper says Levante Ferries tickets are booked online and collected in paper form at the port. Zakynthos tickets for this ferry therefore need one stop at the collection point before the gate.
Ferryscanner states that its cancellation rules for each route appear during the booking steps. Read them before you pay, because they differ from one route to the next.
Ferryhopper’s Athens to Zante page gives a second figure: reach the port at least 45 minutes before departure. Use the longer figure of the two when you plan a tight bus and ferry day.
Which bus ticket takes you from Athens to the Kyllini ferry?
Book the Athens to Amaliada bus route and get off at Lechena for the port of Kyllini. The buses leave daily from the Kifissos intercity bus station (KTEL Kifissou) in Athens.
Ferryhopper lists no direct connection from Athens to Zante and routes the trip through Kyllini. A traveller from the capital therefore holds two tickets. One is a KTEL bus ticket to the port, and the other is a ferry ticket to the island.
Allow about 3.5 hours on the bus between Athens and Kyllini. Ferryhopper says the Athens buses normally match the ferry times. Buy a bus ticket for a departure that reaches Lechena well before your sailing.
Treat Zakynthos tickets for this route as two separate bookings. Each leg has its own date and its own time.
Which Zakynthos tickets cover the Navagio and Blue Caves boats?
Boat-only tickets for Navagio and the Blue Caves run from 1 hour to about 3 hours. The GetYourGuide feed lists a 1-hour Blue Caves visit, a 135-minute cruise, a 2.5-hour swim cruise and a 195-minute tour.

Among these Zakynthos tickets, the swim cruise and the St. Nikolaos cruise both board at the port of Agios Nikolaos in the north. The swim cruise passes Agios Andreas Bay, and the St. Nikolaos listing names a speed boat for the ride.
The Porto Vromi cruise lasts 2 to 3 hours. It includes a photo stop at Shipwreck Beach and 3 swimming stops. The route also takes in the Sfogio caves and White Beach.
The Xigia tour uses a 20-seat speedboat and adds Xigia Beach to the Navagio shipwreck and the Blue Caves. Compare the trip length first, then the stops, before you pick among these Zakynthos tickets.
How is a Land and Sea ticket different from a boat-only ticket?
A Land and Sea ticket adds a road leg and a viewpoint stop to the boat ride. The day runs 7 to 9 hours instead of 1 to 3, while a boat-only ticket covers the water alone.
One listing leads you through the north of the island, with a stop at the Shipwreck Viewpoint. A glass-bottom boat or a speedboat then carries you to Navagio, White Beach and the Blue Caves.
All four land and sea listings in the GetYourGuide feed carry a pickup label. The small version caps the group at 10 guests. It runs 8 to 8.5 hours and includes a panoramic view at the Shipwreck Viewpoint.
The 135-minute cruise, the 2.5-hour swim cruise and the 1-hour Blue Caves visit carry no pickup label. With no pickup label, plan how you reach the pier yourself. Zakynthos tickets for the long days list pickup, and the short cruises do not.
Does a Navagio ticket include time on the beach?
A Navagio ticket guarantees a view from the water, not a landing. Landslides closed the beach before. Wikipedia records that boats approached the cove while swimming near the beach was banned.
After the first cliff collapse, swimming and boat anchoring were forbidden. The beach reopened, and anchoring is permitted with restrictions because of fears of future landslides.
A later landslide followed a 5.4-magnitude earthquake between Kefalonia and Zakynthos. Wikipedia names OASP, the Earthquake Planning and Protection Organization, as the body whose experts recommended the closure.
Ask the seller what the listing promises at the beach: a swim stop, a photo stop or only a view. Zakynthos tickets differ on this point. The Porto Vromi listing states a photo stop at Shipwreck Beach, and the viewpoint tours show Navagio from above.
Which Zakynthos tickets cover turtle spotting trips?
Turtle tickets run from a 30-minute boat trip in Laganas Bay to tours of 3.5 hours. The longer tours add the Keri Caves and Marathonisi, and the shortest trip carries a canopy for shade.
The 2-hour tour is the shortest listing with the Keri Caves and a swim at Marathonisi. All four turtle listings named here carry a pickup label. Zakynthos tickets for the turtle trips therefore offer a ride to the boat.
The 3-hour speedboat tour is a semi-private group of 8 to 14 people. It has 2 to 3 swim stops and a visit to Cameo Island. The glass-bottom version runs 3 to 3.5 hours.
These boats work inside the National Marine Park of Zakynthos. Wikipedia says the park runs a code of conduct for marine excursions. A guide to the Zakynthos turtle spotting cruise covers the trip itself.
How do you get a ticket for Zakynthos Castle?
The castle on Bochali hill sells entry with set opening days and a list of free days. From 1 April to 31 October the site is closed on Tuesdays. Last admission is 20 minutes before closing.
The winter list from 1 November to 31 March opens the site on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It closes the site on Wednesday and Thursday. The site also stays shut on 1 January, 25 March, Easter Sunday, and 25 and 26 December.
Free days include 6 March, 18 April, the last weekend of September and 28 October. From 1 November to 31 March, entry is also free on the first and third Sunday of each month.
Zakynthos tickets for the castle cost nothing on those days, so match your visit to the list. The Zakynthos castle guide covers the climb and the views.
How far ahead do you book Zakynthos tickets for boat trips?
The booking cut-off on GetYourGuide boat tickets for Zakynthos runs from 15 minutes to 10 hours before the start. Every tour in the feed carries a free cancellation label.
For the Blue Caves, the 135-minute cruise needs a booking 1 hour 30 minutes ahead. The 2-hour turtle tour needs 30 minutes. The Porto Vromi cruise and the 10-guest land and sea tour need 10 hours.
The 1-hour Blue Caves visit and the 195-minute Xigia tour show no cut-off line in the feed. Read the listing page for the rule before you rely on a last-minute booking.
A cut-off of 10 hours means a morning start needs a booking made the night before. Read the cut-off line before you pay for Zakynthos tickets. Pick a listing with free cancellation when the weather is unsettled.
Where do GetYourGuide and Viator fit among Zakynthos tickets?
GetYourGuide and Viator sell the boat and tour tickets, while the ferry and the castle sell their own. The cards on this page let you compare trip length, pickup and cancellation in one place.
Viator lists a product titled “Prebook your tickets for Blue caves and shipwreck beach with a glass bottom boat”. It also lists a turtle spotting cruise in Zakynthos and an all-day shipwreck and Blue Caves tour.
Compare the same three things on both sites. Check the length of the trip, whether pickup is offered and the cancellation line. Two cards that look alike differ on one of these points, so Zakynthos tickets need that side-by-side look.
Every GetYourGuide listing named on this page carries the free cancellation label. The Zakynthos tours page lists the full set of trips on the island.
What do travellers ask about Zakynthos tickets?
Can you take a motorbike on the Kyllini ferry?
Yes. Ferryscanner lists a motorbike ticket type. It names the ships Fior di Levante and Mare di Levante for motorbikes on the route.
Do you check in bags for the ferry?
No. Ferryhopper states that the Zante to Kyllini connection has no check-in procedure for luggage items.
Can a dog travel on the ferry?

Is the ferry open to wheelchair users?
Ferryscanner says the ferries allow foot passengers and that wheelchair access is normally available.
What other names does Navagio carry?
Wikipedia lists Shipwreck Beach and Smugglers Cove, and notes that the cove was first known as Agios Georgios.
Can you choose your own return time on a turtle tour?
On the 2-hour turtle tour, yes. The listing says a taxi boat returns you to the harbour at your preferred time.
